Villarrubia de Santiago (Toledo) has become a global point of reference for the energy transition thanks to the opening of the new Nomad Solar Energy factory, a company that is a pioneer in the development and production of mobile solar generators. The event, held on 21 October 2025, was attended by the president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, together with institutional and business representatives from the energy sector.

A strategic investment for sustainable energy and Spanish industry
The new Nomad Solar Energy plant represents a firm commitment to innovation, sustainability and industrial jobs. With an area of more than 15,000 square metres, the facility is equipped to produce thousands of units a year of its iconic Nomad Energy Box, mobile systems that combine photovoltaic solar technology, smart storage and mobility to provide clean energy anywhere in the world.
During the inauguration, President García-Page stressed the importance of projects like this in consolidating Castilla-La Mancha as a national and international benchmark in renewable energy. “This plant generates not only energy, but also employment, technological development and regional pride,” he said.

Solar power: a revolution in motion
Nomad Solar Energy’s mobile solar generators are a versatile and sustainable solution designed for sectors such as construction, agriculture, events, emergencies, mining and defence. They make it possible to replace diesel generators with 100% solar units, drastically reducing CO₂ emissions and operating costs.
Their plug & play concept makes transport and installation possible in minutes, bringing clean energy to where it is most needed. This model of innovation is aligned with the objectives of the European energy transition and strengthens Spain’s position as a leader in renewable energy.

Commitment to the region and the future
In addition to its positive environmental impact, Nomad Solar Energy drives the creation of local employment and the development of regional suppliers. The factory will generate more than 100 direct and indirect jobs, promoting a green and sustainable industrial fabric in the region.
The company has stated its commitment to technical training and public-private partnership, with the aim of developing talent specialising in clean energy and sustainable mobility.

Castilla-La Mancha, the epicentre of global solar innovation
With this opening, Castilla-La Mancha reinforces its leadership in the renewable energy sector and strengthens its position as a strategic hub for solar innovation. From Villarrubia de Santiago, Nomad Solar Energy’s solar generators will reach projects all over the world, exporting Spanish technology and sustainable energy on a large scale.
