The plant Villarrubia de Santiago, with 15,000 m2 and an investment of 4 million euros, will produce 1,500 computers per year to markets in four continents
Castilla-La Mancha is consolidating its position as the new epicenter of the european solar mobile. Nomad Solar Energy, owned by the investment fund French TiLT Capital Partners, will open the next 21 October, their first own factory in Villarrubia de Santiago (Toledo), with the presence of the regional president Emiliano García-Page. This installation of 15,000 square metres —the equivalent of a football field full— represents the largest plant in the world dedicated to the manufacture of systems of photovoltaic generation laptop.
The company, which has two other factories in the process of opening, has chosen Europe as the axis of its industrialization and, within the continent, has opted for the province of toledo on other options that are initially shuffled near Barcelona. This decision puts the region of la mancha at the forefront of energy innovation and as a new pole of industrial development.

Pioneering technology that is revolutionizing the energy sector
Generators mobile solar Nomad represent a technology innovator and pioneer in Europe that allows you to equip industries in multiple sectors with autonomous systems renewable energy generation. The key differential: can be installed in any location without the need of connection to the electricity distribution network, eliminating the dependence logistics of fossil fuel and CO₂ emissions.
These kits, available in format trailer or sea container, integrated photovoltaic panels of the latest generation and most advanced systems of storage in high-capacity batteries, ensuring power supply continuous even during the night or in adverse weather conditions.
Ambitious industrial plan: 1,500 computers and 80 jobs
With an initial investment of 4 million euros, Nomad Solar Energy is expected to create in your factory toledo approximately 80 direct jobs in the next three years. The aim productive is to reach 1,500 computers by the end of 2026, designed for both domestic and international export.
The company has already signed contracts in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe, and did not rule out expanding its capacity manufacturing plant in Spain to meet the growing demand in these emerging markets. According to Laurent de Thieulloy, CEO of the company: ‘From this corner of Toledo we are going to manufacture energy solutions to half the world’.
A strategic response to the congestion of electrical networks
The technology, developed by Nomad takes on special relevance in the current context of saturation of the electrical infrastructure in Europe. The congestion of the distribution networks, which requires multi-million dollar investments and deadlines dilated, has become a bottleneck for the industrial development and the energy transition.
The autonomous system solar generation mobile offer an immediate solution that enables businesses and institutions to initiate projects without relying on extensions to the network. This ability was especially valuable during the blackout of April, when these teams demonstrated their effectiveness as a backup energy for emergency critical facilities.
Energy autonomy as a priority geopolitics
In an international context marked by the search for energy sovereignty, countries and companies are actively seeking to reduce their dependence on others and to build autonomous systems, which are able to guarantee the supply. The technology of Nomad responds directly to this strategic need.
This approach explains the interest of markets such as Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe, where the electrical infrastructure to conventional prove to be insufficient or non-existent. In these territories, generators, solar mobile allow you to electrify remote areas, to promote industrial projects and improve basic services without costly investments in electric power lines.
Defence, Emergencies and operational autonomy
The current debate on the increase of the budget on Defense and Security has highlighted the importance of improving the systems of energy autonomy for military operations and civil protection. Both the Army and the Emergency services demand cutting-edge solutions for their deployments and actions in disaster.
The generators of Nomad offer total energy independence in scenarios hostile or gradients, where the conventional supply is impossible. This capacity for rapid deployment without logistical requirements complex converts to the technology in a strategic asset for the national defense, and emergency response.

Institutional collaboration and innovation regional
In your bet Castilla-La Mancha, Nomad Solar Energy, together with the ministry of Economy and Business of the Board, has begun a round of meetings with different HUBs industry of the region. These contacts will focus on strategic sectors such as energy, photovoltaic and hydrogen in green, with the objective of providing experience and knowledge to the plans of I+D+i that drives the regional government.
This collaboration positions Castilla-La Mancha as an ecosystem attractive for energy innovation, to strengthen the regional supply chains and strengthening the community as the epicenter green industrial Spain.
Social commitment: energy and water for vulnerable communities
Beyond its industrial dimension, Nomad Solar Energy has been the Nomad Solar Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating access to electricity and drinking water in disadvantaged communities of the planet.
The foundation is already working on pilot projects in Guinea, Kenya, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where it will deploy containers pv for free. These systems not only provide electricity, but integrated generation technology of atmospheric water (AWG) that literally turns the air into drinking water, as well as pumping systems for underground wells.
‘Access to energy is currently the most powerful tool against poverty on the planet’, Laurent de Thieulloy. ‘we Want to provide tangible value in the combination Power + Water, thereby improving the conditions of life in needy places. Our ambition goes beyond the purely technological: we aspire to be a true agent of social transformation’.
A market in full blast
Although just two years ago, the sector of the generators mobile solar generated skepticism among investors, the current forecasts point to an exponential growth to reach between 5,000 and 10,000 million euros in 2030. Nomad Solar Energy has advanced to this trend and already consolidated its position as a european leader and worldwide in this emerging industry.
The opening of this megafab in Villarrubia de Santiago not only positioned to Toledo on the map of innovation global energy, but it does demonstrate that it is possible to combine industrial excellence, environmental sustainability and social commitment from the heart of Spain, contributing simultaneously to the energy transition, the strategic autonomy and human development.
