This past May, as part of a key event for energy innovation in rural areas, Ms Begoña García Bernal, Secretary of State for Agriculture and Food, visited the facilities of Nomad Solar Energy to learn first-hand about our solution: the Nomad Energy Box.
During the visit, the Nomad team demonstrated this portable, autonomous solar unit in operation, capable of generating up to 107 kWp and operating without a grid connection. Designed to adapt to any terrain and situation —from farms and livestock operations to emergency zones or events— the Nomad Energy Box represents a real, modular and quick-to-deploy energy solution.
Clean Energy, Immediately and Without Civil Works
In a context where energy sustainability and resilience are needed more than ever, the Secretary of State welcomed Nomad’s proposal as a key tool for promoting energy self-sufficiency in the agricultural sector, especially in areas where grid access is limited or unreliable.
The day also placed the focus on the potential of the hybrid system, which makes it possible to combine solar power with battery storage and, when required, with backup generators. It is a solution adaptable to different rural realities, capable of providing a constant supply while drastically reducing emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.

The institutional visit reflects the growing interest in technological solutions that can respond effectively to the energy challenge in the agri-food sector, where access to energy makes the difference in the competitiveness, sustainability and future of many farms.
