From 20 to 22 October, Nomad Solar Energy is taking part in Mining and Minerals Hall (MMH) at FIBES Seville to present its solar energy solutions for mining. You’ll find us at stand 3013 with one clear goal: to sit down with operations, energy and procurement managers from mining sites and calculate, using their own data, how much they can save.
There, we’ll present a tool that estimates each operation’s savings in real time, along with a technical team ready to analyse your case.
Why energy is now an operational risk in mining
Many mining sites operate far from the power grid or are connected to unstable grids. At these sites, energy almost always depends on diesel generators: fuel that has to be bought, transported and stored, with fluctuating prices and outages that bring production to a halt.
For decades, diesel has been the backbone of energy at mine sites, and in many cases it will remain so for some time. The question is no longer whether to replace it overnight, but how far its share can be reduced to gain autonomy and cost predictability.
At Nomad, we sum it up like this: resilience is not an advantage. It is the minimum requirement to operate.
What we’ll present at MMH Seville
At stand 3013 we’ll talk about our three product lines, all designed and manufactured in Spain at our plant in Villarrubia de Santiago (Toledo):
- Nomad Energy Box (NEB). Autonomous solar containers for continuous loads. The NEB20, in a 20-foot container format, integrates 110 kWp of PV capacity and 60 kWh of storage, and can be deployed in around 3 hours with no fixed infrastructure.
- Nomad Energy Water (NEW). Solar-powered water generation for remote sites. In mining, water is as critical as energy, and we give it the same weight.
- Nomad Energy Tow (NET). A towable solar unit for work fronts that move and need power wherever the activity is.
They all share the same logic: mobile, quick to install and designed to complement or progressively replace diesel.
The savings prediction tool: your case, in real time
What’s new at MMH is a savings prediction tool integrated with our energy management system (EMS). Based on your operation’s data, it estimates the savings and the reduction in diesel consumption a Nomad solution would deliver at your site.
To make the most of the meeting, we recommend bringing:
- Approximate site location
- Current energy consumption or installed generation capacity
- Annual diesel consumption or spend
- Operating hours and water needs, if applicable
By the end of the meeting, you’ll have an initial estimate and a clear idea of which configuration fits your operation.
Real results in mining: Kenya and Zambia
Our work in mining already has the figures to back it up. At two mining sites in Kenya and Zambia, two NEB20 units produce and save every year.
You can see the details in our mining success stories.
Why Nomad for your mining operation
- Autonomy. Power where the grid doesn’t reach, without depending on fuel supply.
- Continuity. Fewer stoppages due to outages or diesel shortages.
- Predictability. Stable, measurable energy costs, with our DEO indicator (Operational Energy Availability).
- Support. A team that supports you from the initial study through to operation.
Plus an advantage that doesn’t compromise on lead times: 100% Spanish manufacturing, deployment in hours and units that relocate when the operation moves to a new front.
